In thesis writing, universities and academic institutions need clear standards to evaluate originality, proper citation, and responsible use of digital tools, including artificial intelligence. This article discusses a practical threshold model for reviewing plagiarism and AI-generated similarity in academic theses: less than 10% is acceptable, 10–15% needs evaluation, and above 15% is considered
